It looks like Square Enix is going global now, with Square Enix's global president Yoichi Wada scoping out Europe to check out how the gaming industry is faring in the region and to check on the performance of other gaming companies.Aside from making games with the Western market in mind, Wada also confirmed that they may also establish studios in the Western part of the world, much like Sega's Sega Racing Studio. Here's what he had to say about their plans:The European market is of course very big as it is, but it has great potential for growth as well. So I would like Square Enix to be stronger in this particular market. One of the purposes of this visit is to get a better grasp of what's going on in this market at the moment, and also to find out about the other main players, and how they're doing.Aside from the Western regions, Wada also recognized the value of Asia, especially with China where their online games are doing fairly well. However, he did say that their strategy for Asia will be a bit different compared to the approach that they will take for the Western regions.
